What

The Digital Humanities (DH) Conference is the annual international conference of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations. Yearly, the DH Conferences attracts approximately 1000 – 1200 international participants that apply digital and computational techniques to humanities research and social sciences.

Topics covered by the conference include:

• Humanities research enabled through digital media, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software studies, or information design and modelling;
• Social, institutional, global, multilingual, and multicultural aspects of digital humanities;
• Computer applications in literary, linguistic, cultural, and historical studies, including public humanities and interdisciplinary aspects of modern scholarship;
• Quantitative stylistics and philology, including big data and text mining studies;
• Digital arts, architecture, music, film, theatre, new media, video games, and electronic literature;
• Emerging technologies such as physical computing, single-board computers, minimal computing, or wearable devices, applied to humanities research;
• Digital Humanities in pedagogy and academic curricula.

In 2019, the DH Conference (DH2019) will take place in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Spread across three conference days and two days of pre-conference workshops, participants will present their newest research and the applications of their work.The DH2019 conference is therefore a unique opportunity to find inspiration, to learn what is already possible, to take a look into the future and discover what is on the verge of breaking through, and to meet representatives of the communities involved, including young researchers interested in a career in the data science sector.
