General remarks: |
The slab shows the same heraldry as that of Adriaen Goesenz., which suggests that Marya
Adryaensdochter was his daughter. During the sixteenth century the same arms also belonged to the Van Cats
family in the Linschoten area where Adriaen Goesenz. owned land, as did others of his family; some descendants of a
certain Rijck Goesenz. (probably a brother of Adriaen) later carried the name Van Cats, which is suggestive. |
