Cornelis Dirck Janz. was a miller in Rozendaal, which is situated between Oudewater and Haastrecht.
He was married to Marrichgen Jansdochter Verhooch and their children used the name Verhooch. There were no further
descendants. Cornelis's brother Aert Dirckz. and his descendants instead used the name Van Vliet (Vliet being
adjacent to Rozendaal). |

General remarks: |
According to the register of graves, a daughter of Cornelis Dirck Janz. and Marrichgen was buried in
the same grave in 1593, as was a daughter of Cornelis's brother Aert in 1594. The inscription probably ends with the
conventional prayer for the souls of the deceased. |
